Workshop Overview

The Institute of Eminence Science and Research (IESR) is offering a 7-Day Bioinformatics Workshop designed to build a strong foundation in bioinformatics. This workshop is suitable for individuals with little to no prior experience in the field.

Workshop 1 focuses on clarity, covering the basics of bioinformatics, its applications, and fundamental tools. Participants will gain an understanding of how bioinformatics aids in research and career development.

The workshop is offered in a hybrid mode, allowing participants to attend either online or offline at the IESR campus in Greater Noida.

Curriculum and Learning Objectives

The curriculum for Workshop 1 includes an introduction to bioinformatics, sequence similarity search tools, and multiple sequence alignment. Participants will also learn about sequence databases, BLAST, and FASTA tools.

Further topics include protein structure and family databases. The workshop incorporates assessment and evaluation to ensure participants grasp the core concepts.

Workshop 2, commencing on July 3rd, 2025, will delve into Bioinformatics Tools & Software Applications. This includes using online platforms like NCBI and UniProt, and hands-on practice with software for sequence alignment and gene analysis.

Target Audience and Prerequisites

This workshop is ideal for students and research scholars from life sciences, biotechnology, microbiology, and related fields. It's designed for beginners who want to learn bioinformatics from the ground up.

Participants can register for Workshop 1, Workshop 2, or both, depending on their skill level and interests. Those already registered for Workshop 1 can easily extend their registration for Workshop 2.

No prior experience in bioinformatics is required for Workshop 1. Workshop 2 is considered a moderate-level workshop, suitable for those with some basic understanding.

The registration fee for Workshop 1 is Rs. 500. Workshop 2 has a registration fee of Rs. 1000. Limited seats are available to ensure personalized hands-on support.

The workshop will be held at Plot No. 014, 1st Floor, Udyog Vihar Ecotech-II, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar – 201310, India. Participants can attend either in person or online.
