Conference Overview

The ARUA 2025 Conference aims to foster collaboration between policymakers, stakeholders, and researchers. The goal is to find solutions related to harnessing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for research and innovation in Africa. This event will serve as a platform for higher education institutions to engage, learn, and share best practices.

The conference will be a three-day event. The final day will be dedicated to workshops specifically for the ARUA Centres of Excellence. This structure ensures focused discussions and practical application of knowledge.

The conference seeks to address the challenges that Africa faces and how AI can be leveraged to overcome them. It aims to boost research, innovation, and AI capacity for the benefit of the continent.

Key Dates and Deadlines

Mark your calendars! The deadline for abstract and special session submissions is February 28, 2025. Feedback on these submissions will be provided by March 31, 2025.

Full paper submissions are due by August 29, 2025. The conference itself will take place from October 29 – 31, 2025.

These dates are crucial for anyone planning to participate. Make sure to adhere to the deadlines to ensure your contribution is considered.

Submission Guidelines

Only authors with formally accepted abstracts can submit full papers. Submissions must correspond to the accepted abstract to be considered.

The abstract should be no more than 200 words. The submission portal requires details such as name, email, profession, and institutional affiliation.

Authors must indicate the conference subtheme and whether the paper has been published elsewhere. Agreement to share the paper online as part of the conference proceedings is also required.

Registration and Logistics

To submit a paper, you will need to provide your Abstract ID and Paper Title. You will also need to upload your paper through the provided portal.

The conference organizers are offering limited travel grants. These are available to support international travel for Early Career Researchers from relatively less-resourced ARUA institutions.
