The CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad presents the "CCMB Microscopy Course (CMC-2025)", a five-day hands-on training program. This course is designed for Ph.D. scholars and Post-Doctoral researchers from academic and industrial backgrounds in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and related fields.
This intensive workshop offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical training in both basic and advanced microscopy techniques. Participants will gain a holistic understanding of modern microscopy workflows, from sample preparation to image interpretation.
The course emphasizes active learning through expert lectures, guided experiments, and collaborative engagement in small, focused groups. Participants will have direct interaction with national and international microscopy experts.
The course will be held from September 8th to 12th, 2025 (Monday to Friday). It is an in-house training program at CCMB, Hyderabad. The course is limited to 15 participants to ensure focused, hands-on engagement.
To be eligible, applicants must hold a Master's degree in any branch of Life Science or allied areas. Selection is based on the application form and a statement of purpose.
Important dates to remember: Registrations open on July 9th, 2025, and close on August 8th, 2025. Selection announcements will be made on August 15th, 2025.
The training curriculum includes fundamentals of light microscopy, hands-on sample preparation, and imaging best practices. Participants will learn immunofluorescence (IF) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) techniques.
Advanced topics include super-resolution techniques like Airy scan, STED, and SIM, as well as live cell imaging techniques such as FRET and FRAP experiments. The course also covers quantitative image analysis and interpretation.
Salient features include hands-on sessions using state-of-the-art confocal and super-resolution systems, dedicated modules on live cell imaging, and software demonstrations for data analysis. Participants will receive a certificate of participation from CSIR–CCMB.
The course fee is Rs. 17,500/- without accommodation and Rs. 20,000/- with accommodation (including GST). Accommodation will be provided at the CCMB Guest House.
