Workshop Overview

The Indian Institute of Technology (ISM) Dhanbad is hosting a hands-on workshop focused on Basic Cell Culture Techniques. This workshop is designed within the context of Materials–Bio Interaction studies.

The primary objective is to provide an interdisciplinary platform. Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in fundamental cell culture methods.

The workshop aims to emphasize the relevance of these techniques in materials-bio interaction research. This will enable participants to apply these skills in their own research endeavors.

Date, Time, and Location

The workshop will be held on July 11th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is a full-day event designed to provide comprehensive training.

The venue is the Central Research Facility (CRF) at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. The CRF provides a suitable environment for hands-on training.

Participants should plan their travel and accommodation accordingly, keeping the location and timings in mind. Ensure you arrive on time to maximize your learning experience.

Workshop Content and Highlights

The workshop will cover key aspects of mammalian cell culture techniques. This includes an introduction to sterile techniques, cell harvesting, and passaging.

Participants will also learn about viability assessment, cell seeding, and culture maintenance. Bioimaging techniques will also be introduced during the workshop.

Hands-on training with relevant laboratory equipment is a core component of the workshop. This practical experience will enhance participants' skills and confidence.

Eligibility and Registration

The workshop is open to PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career faculty. Technical personnel from both academia and industry are also welcome.

Registration fees vary depending on the participant category: Students - ₹2000, Faculty - ₹3000, Industry Personnel - ₹10000. The fee includes breakfast and lunch for all participants.
