Overview

The Department of Physics at IISER Bhopal is hosting the IMPACT (Interdisciplinary Modern Physics: Advanced Concepts and Training) Summer School. This program is designed for students pursuing or recently completing their M.Sc. or final-year B.Sc. in Physics, or equivalent degrees.

The summer school aims to provide a balanced curriculum encompassing theoretical lectures, practical experimental techniques, and hands-on training. This approach ensures participants gain both a strong theoretical foundation and practical skills in experimental physics.

Students from State and Central Universities are particularly encouraged to apply. The program seeks to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment for all participants.

Dates and Location

The IMPACT Summer School will be held from July 14th to July 20th, 2025. This week-long intensive program is designed to maximize learning and engagement.

All sessions and activities will take place at the Department of Physics, IISER Bhopal. The department provides a conducive environment for advanced learning and research.

Participants will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources within the Department of Physics. This will enhance their learning experience and provide opportunities for hands-on experimentation.

Program Highlights

The summer school will cover a range of advanced topics in modern physics. These include Advanced Topics in Quantum Mechanics, Introduction to Astrophysics, and Advanced Topics in Condensed Matter Theory.

A significant component of the program is dedicated to Experimental Techniques, including hands-on training sessions. Participants will gain practical experience with various experimental setups and methodologies.

The curriculum is designed to be interdisciplinary, bridging the gap between different areas of physics. This approach encourages a holistic understanding of modern physics concepts.

Registration and Logistics

Participation in the IMPACT Summer School is free of charge. There is no registration fee required for selected participants.

IISER Bhopal will provide local hospitality to all selected participants. This includes accommodation and meals during the duration of the summer school.

The last date to register for the summer school is June 19th, 2025. Interested candidates should submit their applications before this deadline.
