This is an Introductory Hands-on Workshop on IoT-AI for Healthcare. It's a 3-day short-term weekend course designed to explore the intersection of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Participants will gain practical skills to build intelligent healthcare solutions.
The workshop includes expert-led sessions, live demonstrations, and project-based learning. A key highlight is hands-on experience with PCB design, allowing participants to create their own custom-built hardware.
Top-performing participants will be considered for paid internship opportunities with IIIT-H professors. The workshop also includes working lunch and light refreshments for all three days.
Participants will work directly with microcontrollers (ESP32, Raspberry Pi), sensors, and communication modules. You'll learn to train and deploy lightweight ML models using TinyML and real-time data on edge devices.
The workshop covers IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, Bluetooth, and LoRa for healthcare use cases. You'll also create and visualize real-time sensor data using web dashboards.
You will gain practical knowledge of circuit design and PCB prototyping. Team-based project work will allow you to collaborate in small groups to build a mini IoT-AI healthcare solution.
The workshop covers a range of topics, starting with an introduction to the Internet of Things. It progresses through sensing, actuation, micro-controller/SBC, and basics of IoT communication protocols.
Further topics include IoT and Cloud Computing, Arduino Programming & Sensor Interfacing Demo, and Circuit Design & PCB Prototyping. Participants will also receive an introduction to Machine Learning and Web Applications for Device Management.
The workshop concludes with Machine Learning & Model Prototyping, followed by a Closing Ceremony & Valedictory. Theory classes will be conducted by IIITH faculty, while practical sessions are managed by TAs and mentors from iHub-Data, IIITH.
The workshop is open to UG/PG Students (B.Tech/BSc/BCA), specifically B-Tech 3rd and 4th year students. BCA/BSc final year students with knowledge in Basic Electronics and IoT are also encouraged to apply.
The last date to register is May 26, 2025, and the workshop commences on June 4, 2025, at IIIT Hyderabad. The participation fee is Rs 5,000 (Rupees Five Thousand only).
Limited hostel accommodation is available upon request (charges applicable). Participation is limited to the first 50 registrations, so early registration is encouraged.
