The Thermal and Fluids Analysis Workshop (TFAWS) 2025 is an annual event designed for knowledge sharing and professional development. It aims to foster networking within the thermal and fluids engineering community, especially within NASA and the broader aerospace sector.
TFAWS seeks to maintain continuity and collaboration across various disciplines within thermal and fluids engineering. The 36th edition of TFAWS will be held in San Jose, CA, from August 4th to 7th, 2025.
This year's workshop is organized by NASA Ames Research Center and San Jose State University, located in Silicon Valley. Stay updated on TFAWS news by joining the email list: tfaws-announcements-join@lists.nasa.gov (include “Join” in the subject line).
TFAWS 2025 will take place from August 4-7, 2025, at the Diaz Compean Student Union (SJSU), One Washington Sq, San Jose, CA 95192. The host center is NASA Ames Research Center (ARC), with co-organizers including Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) and Dr. Papadopoulos from SJSU Aerospace Engineering Department.
The event is sponsored by the NASA Engineering and Safety Center (NESC), specifically the Thermal Control and Protection, Aerosciences, and Cryogenics Technical Discipline Teams (TDTs). Registration for the conference is free, making it accessible to a wide range of attendees.
The NCTS number for civil servants is 51653-25. For vendor opportunities, contact ARC-TFAWS2025@mail.nasa.gov. Walk-up registration will be available at the event.
A block of 100 rooms is reserved at the San Jose Marriott, located at 301 South Market Street, San Jose, CA 95113. The government per-diem rate is $192/night + tax, and the room block reservation ends on July 11th, 2025. Contact San Jose Marriott for reservations.
A budget-friendly option is available at SJSU Campus Village Building 2, 375 South 9th Street, San Jose, CA 95112. There are 50 rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis. More information is available in the travel information section.
Attendees are encouraged to book their accommodations early to secure the best rates and availability. Check the travel information section for additional details and options.
TFAWS 2025 will feature technical sessions and presentations, software demonstrations and training, and technical short courses. A student poster session, guest speakers, speed mentoring, and networking events are also planned.
The workshop is designed for engineers, scientists, educators, students, international guests, and partners. It is also beneficial for thermal and fluids analysis tool users and anyone interested in the field, regardless of experience level.
Key benefits include sharing work on aerospace missions, imparting engineering lessons learned, and comparing engineering practices. It also enhances collaboration between NASA centers, government agencies, industry, academia, and the international community.
The deadline for abstract submissions was Friday, June 13, 2025. Conference registration is now open, and walk-up registration will be available.
