- Eligible Applicants: Miscellaneous (unrestricted). Entities may include Commercial organizations, Individuals, Institutions of Higher Education, Hospitals, Other Non-Profit Organizations, State Government, Local Government, Federally Recognized Indian Tribal Governments, Native American tribal organizations, Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Network, and Federal Entities.
- Applicants must have the necessary technical and administrative abilities and resources to ensure successful completion of studies.
- United States non-profit, non-governmental organizations must provide a copy of their Section 501(c)(3) or (4) status determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service.

Research Areas and Activities
Projects should address priority general categories and factors as well as specific near-term needs related to Yukon River salmon. Emphasis is placed on:
- Advancing understanding of the biology and management of Chinook and Chum salmon stocks in the Yukon River (Alaska portion).
- Incorporating local capacity with members of Yukon River communities where work is conducted.
- Coordinating with state and federal regulatory agencies (recommended, but not mandatory).
