The French Alzheimer’s Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program, supported by the Fondation Alzheimer and the Global Brain Health Institute, offers a unique opportunity for French medical researchers. This program focuses on providing specialized training, building professional networks, and offering sustained support to advance research in Alzheimer's disease.
This program provides funding to cover the applicant’s full-time salary for 12 months, along with covering travel costs associated with the fellowship. The aim is to enable researchers to fully dedicate their time and resources to the program's immersive experience.
The fellowship involves a 12-month immersion at either the University of California, San Francisco (USA) or Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). This international experience is designed to broaden the fellow's perspective and expertise in brain health.
Fellows will engage in an interdisciplinary approach, studying epidemiology, statistics, ethics, law, and leadership. They will also be surrounded by world-leading experts in brain health and dementia, fostering a collaborative and enriching environment.
Applicants must be French citizens and fluent in English to fully participate in the program's international setting. Strong communication skills are essential for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Applicants must hold both a medical doctorate (MD) and at least a master 2 degree.
The MD degree must have been obtained within the last 10 years, applicable at the contract's start or by January 1st of the following year.
Candidates must hold a permanent position within the French academic sector at the time of application or be in the process of being recruited. Their work must be focused on Alzheimer’s disease and related diseases.
The program offers innovative training designed to equip fellows with the latest knowledge and skills in brain health research. This includes exposure to diverse methodologies and perspectives.
Fellows will gain access to an extensive professional network, connecting them with leading researchers and institutions worldwide. This network can provide ongoing support and collaboration opportunities.
The program provides long-term support to fellows, ensuring they have the resources and mentorship needed to advance their careers. This includes continued access to the program's network and resources.
The application deadline is September 20, 2025. Applicants should ensure all required documents are submitted by this date to be considered for the program.
The program is specifically targeted at Recognized Researchers (R2), defined as PhD holders or equivalent who are not yet fully independent. This ensures the program supports researchers at a critical stage in their career development.
The program focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions, aiming to advance understanding, treatment, and prevention strategies. This targeted approach allows for specialized training and research opportunities.
