The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Scholarship for EU students supports EU nationals pursuing a full-time undergraduate degree at state or state-recognized universities in Germany. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), Germany, and managed by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, the scholarship is open to candidates in their first degree or those who begin their studies in the upcoming semester. Applications are welcome across a broad range of disciplines.
This scholarship programme is designed for EU nationals enrolled as full-time students in formal sciences, humanities, natural sciences, professions and applied sciences, or social sciences at eligible German universities. The award supports students at the First Stage Researcher (R1) career stage, up to the point of PhD. The programme also provides mobility support for incoming researchers in Germany.
Applications are accepted during two annual application periods: from 1 April to 30 April and from 1 October to 31 October. Eligible candidates may apply during these windows.
