The Pfizer Independent Medical Education Grant Request for Proposals: Novel Therapies for Relapsed/Refractory Large B-Cell Lymphoma in Community Oncology Practice supports eligible organizations in developing independent medical education for healthcare professionals managing patients with relapsed/refractory large B-cell lymphoma (R/R LBCL). This competitive grant program aims to address identified knowledge and competence gaps among community-based clinicians.
This competitive grant program encourages submissions for independent medical education designed to increase community healthcare professional understanding and competence in the management of patients with R/R LBCL. Projects must focus on the United States. Pfizer supports independent initiatives to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need aligned with its medical and scientific strategies. The grant requester and grantee are responsible for the design, implementation, and conduct of the independent initiative; Pfizer is not involved in project development or program conduct.
Individual projects requesting up to $250,000 will be considered. The estimated total available budget for this RFP is $500,000. The expected typical grant range is $50,000 to $250,000; smaller, local, or single healthcare institution projects should be at the lower end of this range. Award amounts include direct costs, institutional overhead costs (capped at 28% per Pfizer policy), and indirect costs. The maximum project length is 18 months.
Eligible applicants include medical, dental, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy professional schools; healthcare institutions; professional organizations and medical societies; medical education companies; and other entities with a mission related to healthcare professional education or healthcare improvement. Only organizations are eligible to receive grants, not individuals or independent medical practice groups. The applicant must be the project or program lead or an authorized designee. The requesting organization must be legally able to receive award funding directly from Pfizer Inc. For projects offering continuing education credit, the requesting organization must be accredited. Projects must be conducted within the United States.
Projects will focus on increasing community healthcare professional understanding and competence in the following areas:
Educational formats that will be considered include professional medical society programs with wide reach to community oncologists, interactive learning, case-based learning, workshops, tumor boards, digital platforms (videos, podcasts, infographics, animations, social media-linked content), on-agenda educational sessions at local or regional live conferences, grand rounds, online articles, newsletter articles, training courses, webinars, and downloadable practice resources. Projects evaluating the efficacy of therapeutic or diagnostic agents will not be considered.
The target audience includes hematologists and oncologists, oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of people with R/R LBCL in community practice settings.
