This call from Ruder Boskovic Institute offers a postdoctoral position for research within the Division of Molecular Biology, specifically in the Laboratory of Cell Dynamics. The project focuses on dissecting the redundancy of Rac1 isoforms in Dictyostelium discoideum. This is a great opportunity for researchers with a background in natural sciences and a passion for cell biology.

Funding Details

This is a funded postdoctoral position for a fixed term. The position is available for a period not exceeding 30.11.2026, or for a period of 16 months, whichever expires first. There is 1 position available.

The funding supports research on the CSF project "Dissecting the redundancy of Rac1 isoforms in Dictyostelium discoideum" (IP-2024-05-6331). This project aims to understand the roles of different Rac1 isoforms in cell dynamics.

The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research in molecular biology and cell dynamics. This position offers a chance to work in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet specific criteria to be considered for this postdoctoral position. Compliance with Article 39, paragraph 7 of the Croatian Law on Science and Higher Education is mandatory.

  • Must hold an academic degree of Doctor of Science (PhD) in Natural sciences, field of biology, or in Biotechnical sciences, field of biotechnology.

  • Must have active knowledge of the English language in speech and writing.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in cell cultures, microscopy, and a strong publication record.

Application Process

To apply, candidates must submit a complete application package. The application should include a detailed CV, a certificate of academic degree, and other documents proving fulfillment of the competition's conditions.

Ensure all documents are submitted before the deadline to be considered. The application must clearly demonstrate how the applicant meets the eligibility criteria.

The deadline for applications is 23 June 2025. Late applications will not be considered.

Research Focus

The primary research focus is on understanding the redundancy of Rac1 isoforms in Dictyostelium discoideum. This involves investigating the molecular mechanisms and cellular processes regulated by Rac1.

The work will be conducted in the Laboratory of Cell Dynamics, within the Division of Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will contribute to the CSF project (IP-2024-05-6331).

The project offers opportunities to develop expertise in cell culture, microscopy, and molecular biology techniques. The research aims to advance our understanding of cell dynamics and signaling pathways.
