The CSIR-Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) is hosting a skill development program focused on "Advanced Biophysical Tools for Protein-DNA/Bimolecular Interactions" (BIOPHY-II). This intensive hands-on training is designed for faculty, researchers, and individuals from various sectors including Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Science.
The program aims to provide comprehensive education and practical training in biophysical techniques relevant to DNA/Protein Biophysics. Participants will gain insights into the application of these techniques in research projects, regardless of their current expertise level.
Limited seats are available, with only 10-12 participants being selected. The training will be conducted in-house at CCMB, offering a focused and immersive learning experience.
The skill development program will take place from November 17th to November 21st, 2025. This five-day intensive course will provide a deep dive into the world of biophysical tools.
The venue for the training is the CSIR-Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad. This location provides access to state-of-the-art facilities and expert instructors.
Being an in-house training, participants are expected to be present at CCMB for the duration of the program. This ensures maximum engagement and hands-on learning opportunities.
The training curriculum encompasses a blend of informative lectures and practical hands-on sessions. Participants will learn the basics of biophysics and instrument setup for various techniques.
Specific techniques covered include Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC), Microscale Thermophoresis (MST), Biolayer Interferometry (BLI), Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectroscopy, and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS). Protein modeling will also be addressed.
The program includes guidance on sample preparation, data collection, and in-depth instructions on data analysis and presentation. Participants will also benefit from tips and tricks shared by expert instructors.
To be eligible for the program, applicants must hold a Master's degree in any branch of Life Science or allied areas. Selection will be based on the application form and a statement of purpose.
The course fee is Rs. 18,000/-, which includes accommodation and Goods and Services Tax (GST). This fee covers all training materials, access to facilities, and accommodation for the duration of the program.
Interested candidates can apply through the provided link: http://recruitment.ccmb.res.in/training_programs/sdp/. Early application is encouraged due to the limited number of seats available.
Participants will receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the training. The program also emphasizes exposure to laboratory safety regulations and one-to-one interaction with trainers.
Evaluation assignments and troubleshooting sessions will be conducted to reinforce learning and address any challenges. Expert instructors will provide lectures and hands-on training throughout the program.
