The Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Seminar (IEAS) offers Indian college and university administrators a unique opportunity to gain insights into the U.S. higher education system. This program is designed to foster understanding and collaboration between Indian and U.S. institutions.
Participants will engage in a two-week U.S. visit, scheduled for March/April 2026. The seminar will cover various aspects of U.S. higher education, including institutional types, accreditation processes, and curriculum development strategies.
The program also focuses on fundraising techniques, student services, and international education initiatives within U.S. campuses. Participants will share their knowledge of the Indian higher education landscape, promoting a reciprocal exchange of ideas.
The IEAS aims to facilitate knowledge sharing on research collaborations, faculty and student exchanges, and study abroad programs. Meetings and visits to select U.S. campuses and organizations will be integral to this process.
The seminar is structured to enhance the international dimension of participating Indian institutions. It seeks to build the capacity of faculty and students through innovative curricular design and international partnerships.
Ultimately, the IEAS aims to equip administrators with the tools and knowledge necessary to foster international collaborations and exchange programs. This will contribute to the global engagement of their respective institutions.
This seminar is specifically tailored for Indian college and university administrators with a minimum of two years of experience in international program development and management. Ideal candidates hold middle to senior-level positions within their institutions.
Eligible roles include vice-chancellors, deans, directors of international centers or offices, foreign student advisors, and registrars. Applicants should have significant responsibility for enhancing the international profile of their institutions.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong desire to build the capacity of their faculty and students through international collaborations, exchange programs, and innovative curricular design. A letter of support from the home institution is required.
