This program supports independent medical education initiatives for healthcare professionals (HCPs) in China, focusing on improving awareness and understanding of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) diagnosis, treatment, and long-term disease management.

Focus Area

The primary focus is on enhancing the knowledge and skills of healthcare professionals in China related to NSCLC. This includes precision diagnosis, advanced treatments like ALK inhibitors and immunotherapy, and the importance of long-term disease management.

Projects should address educational gaps in lung cancer care, promoting the adoption of best practices and increasing awareness of recent guideline updates. The goal is to improve patient outcomes through better-informed clinical decision-making.

This initiative aims to support projects that are original and build upon existing work, avoiding duplication of efforts. Emphasis is placed on projects that can be broadly disseminated to extend their impact beyond the grant period.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include medical, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy professional schools, healthcare institutions, professional organizations/medical societies, and medical education companies. Only organizations with a mission related to healthcare professional education and/or healthcare improvement can apply.

  • Applicants must be legally able to receive funding directly from Pfizer Investment Co., Ltd.

  • The project/program lead must be an employee or contractor of the requesting organization.

  • The applicant must be the project/program lead or an authorized designee of such individual.

Individual applications or medical practice groups are not eligible. The requesting organization must play a key role if the project involves multiple departments or institutions.

Project Requirements and Guidelines

Projects should focus on education to increase understanding of NSCLC precision diagnosis and advanced treatments, including targeted therapies and immunotherapy. Improving awareness and adoption of best practices is also a key objective.

Education projects should also focus on increasing awareness of NSCLC long-term management, such as chronic disease management in ALK+ advanced NSCLC. Projects should provide education around recent updates and interpretation of guidelines and consensus statements.

Clinical research projects or those evaluating the efficacy of therapeutic or diagnostic agents will not be considered. The target audience includes members of medical academic and healthcare organizations with an interest in lung cancer.

Funding Details and Timeline

Individual projects can request up to $70,000. The total available budget for this RFP is estimated at $350,000. The maximum project length is 1 year.
