The Access EuroHPC Supercomputers for Research Computing opportunity enables researchers to apply for access to Europe’s most powerful supercomputers through the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU). The calls are continuously open with monthly cut-off dates, and awards are allocations of compute time rather than direct funding.
UK Research and Innovation, in co-funding with EuroHPC, supports UK-based researchers in academia, the public sector, and industry to access advanced supercomputing resources. As the United Kingdom is a participating state in EuroHPC, eligible applicants may request compute time on some of Europe’s leading high-performance computing systems. No monetary funding is provided; successful applicants receive allocations of supercomputing time for their research projects.
Four access modes are available to accommodate different stages of research computing:
Eligible candidates include UK-based researchers from:
Applicants must be affiliated with a UK research organisation, as the UK is a participating state in the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.
Applications are accepted on a continuous basis. There is no single closing date; instead, submissions are reviewed against monthly cut-off dates. Applicants may apply directly through the EuroHPC JU supercomputers access calls portal.
