The BJA FY25 Byrne State Crisis Intervention Formula Program supports the creation or enhancement of state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives.
The Opportunity Program Office (OJP) is committed to advancing work that furthers the Department of Justice’s mission to uphold the rule of law, to keep the country safe, and to protect civil rights. OJP provides federal leadership, funding, and other critical resources to directly support law enforcement, combat violent crime, protect American children, provide services to American crime victims, and address public safety challenges, including human trafficking and the opioid crisis. This funding opportunity, authorized by the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022, provides resources for state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives. These include, but are not limited to, extreme risk protection order (ERPO) programs, mental health courts, drug courts, and veterans treatment courts.
Only state governments are eligible to apply for this funding opportunity.
