Description

The Call for Follow-on Research Grant under ICMR- Intramural Research Program-2026 supports intramural researchers in bridging the gap between initial funding cycles and commercialization.

Overview

The Follow-on Research Grant aims to leverage the transformation of research leads, innovation ideas, or new technologies generated through previous ICMR grants to the next level of development.

The follow-on proposal must be linked to previous ICMR grants and demonstrate incremental research.

Funding and Benefits

  • Grant Amount: Up to ₹8 Crores
  • Project Duration: A maximum period of three years. An additional period of up to 6 months for preparatory activities can be incorporated into the project proposal (with no additional costs).

Eligibility

The grant is intended for intramural researchers whose proposals are linked to previous ICMR grants.

Application Process

Applications must be submitted in online mode using the ICMR i-ePMS Portal during active calls for proposals.

Deadline and Timeline

  • Launch Date: 1st July 2026 (Wednesday) at 1000 hrs.
  • Submission Deadline: 31st July 2026 (Friday) at 1700 hrs.

All other terms and conditions remain the same as those of the ICMR Intramural Research Guidelines.
