Description

The Consumer Representative Training Program - Seat at the Table supports the expansion of consumer leadership and co-design expertise by increasing the representation of diverse lived experiences of breast cancer in policy and research.

Overview

The Seat At The Table (SATT) Program is a nationally and internationally recognised consumer engagement model developed by Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). This program trains individuals with a lived experience of breast cancer to become BCNA Consumer Representatives (CRs). CRs utilize their diverse lived experiences, personal perspectives, and professional skills to collaborate with clinicians, researchers, health service providers, and policymakers across Australia. This collaboration ensures that lived experience remains central to decision-making processes. Furthermore, BCNA offers various pathways for consumer participation in policy, research, and service development, aiming to ensure that policy, research, and practice reflect the emerging needs and preferences of people impacted by breast cancer.
