The Department of Health Research (DHR), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India, is offering Long-Term Fellowships at Indian Institutes under the "Human Resource Development (HRD) scheme for Health Research." This program is specifically for faculty members from the North Eastern States of India and aims to provide extended training opportunities to enhance their expertise in health/medical research.
The Long-Term Fellowship supports faculty members in pursuing advanced training for 6 to 12 months at an Indian institute different from their parent institution. The training should focus on a specific topic related to health/medical research, allowing fellows to deepen their knowledge and skills.
Nationality: Indian citizens only.
Location: Applicants must be from the North Eastern States of India (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura).
Employment: Must be employed as a regular faculty member at an Indian institute.
Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a regular employee at the current institute.
Age: Below 45 years as of the application deadline.
Qualifications:
M.D./M.S./M.D.S.
MBBS/BDS/M.VSc./M.Sc./M.Pharma/M.tech or equivalent with a Ph.D. in a health/medical research-related topic.
Prior Fellowships: Candidates should not have received any fellowship of one month or longer from central or state government agencies in India for the same subject of training/research.
Duration: 6-12 months.
Stipend: Rs. 40,000 per month (for training at an institute different from the parent institute).
Contingency Grant:
Rs. 30,000 (maximum) for local travel, attending meetings, etc. (for outstation candidates only).
Rs. 20,000 for attending progress review meetings at DHR (for outstation candidates only).

Proposals must be submitted in the prescribed format.
The parent institute is responsible for submitting utilization certificates as per General Financial Rules (GFRs) for the expenditure incurred.
The institute must maintain a separate account for the project and submit audited statements of accounts.
Training Location: Training must be undertaken at an eligible Indian institute different from the applicant's parent institute. Training at the same institute is not eligible for stipend and grant support.
Fellowship Transfer: The fellowship is non-transferable.
Financial Disbursement: Funds are disbursed to the parent institute, which is responsible for disbursing them to the fellow.
Industry Involvement: Not applicable for this fellowship.
