Description

The National Advocacy Helpline grant opportunity funds the Disability Advocacy Support Helpline (Helpline), a national information and communication technology (ICT)-enabled service that provides short-term individual advocacy support to people with disability, their families, carers and kin. The Helpline also serves as a common entry point for accessing advocacy services through the Disability Gateway.

Overview

This grant opportunity contributes to the achievement of Outcome 4.1 – Disability and Carers, which supports people with disability and carers to actively participate in community and economic life. The grant opportunity supports the Disability Advocacy Support Helpline (Helpline), which provides short-term individual advocacy support. The grantee must demonstrate the experience and capabilities needed to achieve program outcomes, as detailed in Appendix A of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.

The total amount available for this grant opportunity is $15,463,000.00 AUD.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the applicant must be the listed organisation and must have received an invitation to apply from the department. The grant opportunity will invite a single provider to apply through a closed, non-competitive process, building on the Australian Government’s investment in the Disability Advocacy Support Helpline since 2022. Eligibility is based on the organisation's demonstrated experience and expertise, and its stated mission to advance the rights of people with disability.

Application Process

Submission requires completing the application form and attaching all necessary documents. Applications must be submitted via the designated submission portal. Applicants should retain a copy of their application and any supporting documents. Registered users will receive an automated email notification acknowledging receipt of the submission. If an automated email notification is not received within 24 hours of submission, the Health Grants Team should be contacted.
