The Disability Advocacy Support Program: Sector Strengthening supports sector-wide development by funding training, capability building, evidence-informed improvements, and work to identify and elevate systemic advocacy issues.
This grant opportunity builds upon the National Centre for Disability Advocacy (NCDA), which was established in 2022. The actions funded are targeted towards supporting the organisations that deliver services under the service delivery and national advocacy helpline grants of the program, rather than supporting people with disability directly. The funded organisation will deliver targeted education and training focused on building the capabilities essential to achieving the Disability Advocacy Support Program outcomes and objectives. These required capabilities are detailed in Appendix B of the Grant Opportunity Guidelines.
This grant opportunity contributes to the achievement of Outcome 4.1 – Disability and Carers, which supports people with disability and carers to actively participate in community and economic life.
The total amount available for this opportunity is $6,081,000.00 AUD.
To be eligible, the applicant must be the listed organisation and must have received an invitation to apply from the department. The grant opportunity will invite a single provider to apply through a closed, non-competitive process. Eligibility is based on the organisation's demonstrated experience and expertise, and its stated mission to advance the rights of people with disability. Non-negotiable capabilities form part of the eligibility criteria detailed in the Guidelines.
