The Disability Inclusion Partnerships 2026 programme provides grants to strengthen disability inclusion within higher education through partnerships between the United Kingdom and ten selected countries.

Overview

Grants of £25,000 are available for partnerships between UK institutions and institutions in Bangladesh, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The programme supports institutions in identifying and addressing barriers to participation, progression, and success for persons with disabilities, while strengthening disability-inclusive policies, systems, and practices through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Objectives and Expected Outcomes

The grants aim to develop or strengthen disability-inclusive policies, systems, and practices within higher education institutions; improve opportunities, participation, and outcomes for persons with disabilities; and support sustainable institutional change through partnership, evidence generation, and knowledge exchange.

Projects are expected to contribute to one or more of the following outcomes:

• Strengthened institutional leadership, governance, and capacity to implement disability-inclusive policies and practices
• More accessible and inclusive learning, teaching, and research environments for students and staff with disabilities
• Improved evidence and understanding of barriers and enabling factors affecting the participation, progression, and success of persons with disabilities in higher education
• Implementation of policies and frameworks that support disability-inclusive practice and sustainable institutional change
• Strengthened collaboration with organisations of disabled people, employers, and other external stakeholders to support participation and progression beyond higher education
• Greater involvement, voice, and agency of disabled people in shaping institutional policies, practices, and decision-making
• Greater integration of intersectional approaches into institutional decision-making, policy, and practice

Eligibility

Partnerships must include one eligible UK higher education institution and a partner institution in one of the participating countries. The UK lead institution must be a higher education provider with degree-awarding powers. Overseas lead institutions must meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Call Guidance document. Applications must be jointly developed by the UK and overseas lead institutions and submitted by the UK lead institution through the Good Grants platform. Applicants should consult the call guidance document for country-specific eligibility requirements and priorities.

Application Process

All applications must be submitted via the online grant platform at https://goingglobalpartnerships.grantplatform.com/ using the form 'Going Global Partnerships - Multi-country - Disability Inclusion Partnerships 2026'. Online applications can only be started and submitted by the lead UK institution. Registration on the platform is required.
