The EACR-Worldwide Cancer Research Collaboration Fellowships support international research visits that grow out of connections made at the EACR 2026 Congress in Budapest (8-11 June 2026). This joint initiative between the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) and Worldwide Cancer Research gives researchers the time and space to exchange skills and expertise, carry out a specific short-term research project, or lay the groundwork for a broader joint grant proposal through a visit to a research lab in a different country.
The fellowship is designed for researchers who have established a connection at the EACR 2026 Congress and wish to deepen collaboration through an international lab visit. Both the visiting researcher and the host researcher must be EACR members who attended the congress, with at least one of the pair having presented their work there. At least one applicant must have a maximum of eight years of postdoctoral experience, and both must hold a current position in cancer research at a recognised institution or company, with at least one based in Europe.
European-based researchers may propose a visit to a lab anywhere in the world, while researchers based outside Europe must propose a visit to a European lab. Each application is developed jointly by the visiting and host researchers, but only the visiting researcher submits it.
The fellowship provides up to 3,500 EUR to contribute toward travel, accommodation, and/or research expenses for a visit of a minimum of two weeks. No maximum duration is set for the visit.
Applications are developed jointly by the visiting and host researchers. The visiting researcher is responsible for submitting the application. All applications must be based on a connection made at the EACR 2026 Congress.
