The Japanese Headache Society/Pfizer Quality Improvement Grant Program supports projects aimed at improving the quality of migraine care in Japan. This competitive grant program uses an expert review panel to select proposals that focus on navigating behavioral changes among healthcare professionals and patients. The goal is to facilitate early diagnosis and appropriate treatment so that migraine patients can timely access clinical healthcare and necessary information.
Geographic Scope: Japan
Applicant Eligibility Criteria: Eligible organizations include medical, dental, nursing, allied health, and pharmacy professional schools; healthcare institutions; professional organizations; government agencies; and other entities with a mission related to healthcare improvement. Only organizations can receive grants; individuals and independent medical practice groups are not eligible.
Collaborations within and between institutions, organizations, or associations are encouraged. The requesting organization must have a key role in the project. The Project Lead or Principal Investigator (PI) must be an employee or contractor of the requesting organization. The requesting organization must be legally able to receive award funding directly from Pfizer International LLC.
This RFP targets quality improvement projects in migraine care, including pediatric migraine. It is not intended to support clinical research or projects evaluating therapeutic or diagnostic agents. Eligible projects include educational initiatives and the development of systems or mechanisms to translate knowledge into practice.
Projects should address one or more of the following specific areas:
Individual projects requesting up to 1.2 million JPY will be considered. Award amounts include direct costs, institutional overhead costs (capped at 28% per Pfizer policy), and indirect costs. The final grant amount will be determined by the expert review panel based on the proposal and associated costs.
Selected projects are expected to receive an award at an academic meeting and present their results in a poster session after the project concludes. Institutions will be required to present a summary of the project results at the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Headache Society.
