Grant Overview

The EHA Research Mobility Grant supports early-career researchers in basic and translational hematology. The grant aims to promote collaboration between institutes with complementary expertise.

The grant duration is up to three months, with a total award of up to €7,500 within Europe and €10,000 outside of Europe. This funding supports travel and accommodation expenses, as well as a small contribution towards lab consumables.

The deadline for applications is July 1, 2025, at 15:00 (CEST). Winners will be notified in the first week of August, and travel can commence as early as mid-September.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the EHA Research Mobility Grant, several criteria must be met. Applicants must be an EHA member and have the support of an academic department and institute.

The home and host institutes must be academic research centers or proven equivalents, located in different countries, with at least one in Europe. The research must be lab-based and focused on basic and translational hematology.

Additionally, applicants must be either a PhD student, within one year of PhD graduation, or an MD in training (with residency and within one year of hematology accreditation) with a strong interest in research. Here is a summary of eligibility requirements:

Funding Details

The EHA Research Mobility Grant covers travel and accommodation expenses up to €7,500 for travel within Europe and up to €10,000 outside Europe. A small contribution towards lab consumables is also provided, subject to approval by the EHA Grants Manager.

The grant does not cover overhead costs, salary, travel support for other people, funding for existing projects, or the purchase of equipment. Any project lasting longer than three months (up to six months) requires a detailed explanation.

All expenditures must be documented with original receipts, vouchers, or invoices. If the grant does not fully cover expenses, applicants must provide details on how they will cover the remaining costs.

Application Process

To apply for the EHA Research Mobility Grant, submit your application via the EHA Portal by the specified deadline. Ensure you have read the application guidance to understand the required information.

The application should clearly outline the complementary expertise of the home and host institutes and how the visit will promote collaboration. A detailed project proposal is essential.
