Description

The EMBL-EBI-Sanger Postdoctoral (ESPOD) Fellowships Programme supports postdoctoral projects that combine experimental (wet-lab) and computational (dry-lab) approaches in genomics and bioinformatics research. Offered by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), the programme builds on the collaborative relationship between EMBL-EBI and the Wellcome Sanger Institute.

Overview

The ESPOD Fellowships Programme funds postdoctoral research projects that integrate both wet-lab and dry-lab methodologies. Fellows are based on the Wellcome Genome Campus, where both EMBL-EBI and the Wellcome Sanger Institute are located. This co-location provides access to shared scientific expertise, well-equipped facilities, and an active seminar programme that fosters close collaboration between research groups at the two institutions.

The fellowship is intended for researchers at the Recognised Researcher (R2) career stage—PhD holders or equivalent who are not yet fully independent.
