The First Call for Applications for the NNF-IAS Fellowship Programme aims to strengthen Nordic research environments in health and sustainability by harnessing the interdisciplinary and collaborative potential of the Nordic Institutes for Advanced Studies. Managed by the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) and supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation together with seven other Nordic Institutes for Advanced Studies, the programme seeks to contribute to transformative breakthroughs with global impact.
Five fellowships are available in this first call, distributed among four main partner institutes: Denmark (AIAS), Finland (HCAS), Norway (CAS), and Sweden (SCAS). The programme is open to curiosity-driven researchers of any nationality and from all academic disciplines whose research profiles align with the thematic scope of the call. Fellowships last for two years and require residence in the country of the host institute for the full duration.
The programme focuses on health and sustainability, with this first call addressing inequity in health in the Nordic region. Researchers from any discipline whose work contributes to this theme are encouraged to apply.
