The Future Drought Fund Drought Resilience Hubs program invites applications to deliver services nationally from 2026–27 to 2031–2032.

Overview

The program aims to establish seven Drought Resilience Hubs across Australia. The vision is to build drought resilience across the entire drought cycle by connecting farmers and communities with regional experts, innovations, new practices, and services.

The objectives of the program include:

• Facilitating the delivery of place-based extension and adoption activities with a realistic prospect of impact.
• Fostering strong collaboration across the seven Hubs involving Australian, state and territory governments, Research and Development Corporations, and other relevant bodies.
• Establishing robust governance frameworks that enable efficient, effective delivery with strong transparency and accountability mechanisms to build stakeholder trust.

Expected outcomes of the program involve:

• Increased understanding among farmers and communities regarding drought-resilient practices, innovations, and services.
• Increased adoption of drought-resilient practices by farmers and regional and rural communities.
• Improved analysis and understanding by Hubs, Hub partners, and government policymakers concerning drought-resilient extension and adoption gaps in the service region, leading to the identification of place-based solutions.
• Improved collaborative planning and delivery of drought-resilient activities between Hubs, state and territory governments, Research and Development Corporations, and industry/community stakeholders.
• Improved linkages between farmers and communities’ research needs and experts and researchers to support co-designed research solutions.

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be one of the following entity types:

• Company
• Cooperative
• Corporate Commonwealth Entity
• Corporate State or Territory Entity
• Incorporated Association
• Indigenous Corporation.

If applying as a Trustee on behalf of a Trust, the Trustee must be one of the eligible entity types listed above. Further details on entity types are available from the Community Grants Hub.

Application Process and Timeline

To submit an application, applicants must:

• Complete the online application form on GrantConnect.
• Provide all requested information.
• Address all eligibility criteria and assessment criteria.
• Include all necessary attachments.
• Submit applications to the Community Grants Hub by 9:00 pm AEST on 10 August 2026.
