Electric Vehicle Transit Initiative

U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)

This funding opportunity supports the development and deployment of electric vehicle (EV) transit systems in communities across the nation. Funds can be used for vehicle procurement, charging infrastructure installation, and operational planning.

Eligibility & Scope

This program is designed for metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs), tribal governments, and designated municipal authorities with demonstrated need for sustainable public transit solutions.

Key Focus Areas:

Procurement of electric buses and shuttles.
Installation of Level 2 and DC Fast Charging infrastructure.
Development of comprehensive operational plans for EV integration.

Funding Amount: Up to $50 Million (Total available pool)
