headspace National Core Grant Agreement provides funding to ensure headspace services are nationally consistent and locally responsive, offering safe and quality services to young people and their families.

Overview

The funding supports the following key activities:

• Providing stewardship of the national network of headspace services through governance, oversight, and strategic direction, aligning with the Commonwealth strategic priorities for the headspace program. This includes supporting the headspace network to meet the requirements of the headspace model and frameworks.
• Delivering expert advice and enabling functions to the headspace network to boost its capacity, including through monitoring and data reporting, education and training, workforce, clinical, and operational supports.
• Strengthening connections between the headspace network and other services and supports across the mental health system for young people to reduce gaps in care and system fragmentation.
• Building mental health literacy, reducing stigma, and increasing help-seeking through communications and community awareness.

Funding and Benefits

The Australian Government has announced $67,860,000.00 over three years for this grant opportunity. The funding period is from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2029.

Eligibility

To be eligible, the applicant must be the listed organisation and must have received an invitation from the department. The eligible organisation is headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation Ltd (ABN: 26 137 533 843).
