Overview

The purpose of this grant opportunity is to assist Primary Health Networks (PHNs) in supporting the continued delivery and establishment of new and existing headspace services nationally through the Primary Mental Health Care Schedule. The objectives include commissioning headspace services to support people with mild to moderate mental ill health at the local level by:

• Providing youth-friendly mental health support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing, or at risk of mild to moderate mental ill health.
• Providing holistic care to young people across four key areas: mental health, related physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drug support, and vocational services.
• Building community awareness and reducing stigma to encourage help-seeking and provide safety for young people accessing support.
• Enhancing and integrating headspace services to increase access to coordinated, multi-disciplinary care for young people, as well as improve workforce attraction and retention.
• Delivering culturally appropriate services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
