The Healthier India Program, a joint initiative by the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT), IIT Delhi, and Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), with support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF), aims to tackle the increasing prevalence of Cardio-Metabolic Diseases (CMDs) in India. This program seeks to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the healthcare sector.
This program is designed as a challenge-driven platform to accelerate innovation in addressing cardiometabolic diseases in India. It is anchored by FITT, IIT Delhi, in collaboration with AIM and supported by partners like the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The program aims to unite government, industry, and academia to develop scalable, tech-enabled health solutions.
The Healthier India Program offers comprehensive support, including incubation, funding, mentoring, clinical validation, and investor access. It supports startups from the initial concept stage to market readiness. This initiative ensures that innovative ideas are transformed into impactful solutions.
Beyond incubation, the Healthier India Program aims to foster entrepreneurship and strengthen India's healthcare ecosystem. It provides a unique network of industrial expertise, clinical partnerships, and regulatory support. This creates an ideal environment for startups to scale solutions that enhance healthcare affordability, accessibility, and effectiveness.
The program is open to two primary categories of participants, each with tailored support and opportunities. This ensures that innovators at different stages of development can benefit from the program's resources.
The program is looking for:
Pre-incubation: Students, PhDs, individuals, or teams as Entrepreneur in Residence (EIRs).
Acceleration: Startups with existing solutions ready to scale.
Participants should demonstrate a commitment to developing innovative solutions for CMDs. They should also be willing to engage actively with the program's mentorship and training opportunities.
Participants in the Healthier India Program can expect a range of benefits designed to accelerate their ventures. These benefits are tailored to support both early-stage ideas and more mature startups.
The program provides incubation and acceleration opportunities, giving participants access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources at IIT Delhi. Participants will also receive mentorship from experts in the healthcare industry and academia, guiding them through the challenges of developing and scaling their solutions.
Funding is available to help scale promising health solutions, with grants up to 20 Lakhs. The program also includes tailored bootcamps and demo days to provide intensive training and investor pitch opportunities.
The Healthier India Program focuses on specific innovation challenges related to cardiometabolic diseases. These challenges reflect the collective insights of healthcare experts gathered during stakeholder consultations.
The program addresses two main categories:
Community Screening and Diagnostics: Includes advanced technologies for early detection and screening in community settings.
Disease Management and Patient Engagement: Focuses on innovative solutions for ongoing disease management and patient support.
Specific challenges include AI-powered predictive analytics, point-of-care genetic panels, non-invasive biomarkers, and low-cost screening solutions. Also included are wearable early warning systems, innovative wearable technologies, prevention of complications, gestational diabetes management, scalable cardiac rehabilitation, and medication adherence support.
Interested applicants should prepare a detailed proposal outlining their innovative solution and its potential impact on CMDs in India. The proposal should clearly address the program's focus areas and demonstrate the applicant's capacity to develop and scale their solution.
The application deadline is 15th September 2025. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well in advance of the deadline to allow time for any technical issues or clarifications.
