The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EoI) for recognition as ICMR Collaborating Centres of Excellence (ICMR-CCoE) – 2025. This initiative aims to recognize and foster collaboration with research groups demonstrating excellence in biomedical research.
The primary goal is to recognize research groups that have demonstrated excellent research in recent years, designating them as ICMR Collaborating Centres of Excellence. This recognition aims to highlight and support impactful research contributions.
A key objective is to foster collaboration between ICMR, its institutes, and the designated Centres of Excellence. This includes promoting collaboration amongst the Centres of Excellence themselves to create a synergistic research environment.
The initiative seeks to strengthen India's resources in information, services, research, and training to support national health development. This involves leveraging the expertise and capabilities of the recognized centers to contribute to broader health objectives.
Indian research institutes or organizations are eligible to submit an EoI if they meet specific criteria. These criteria ensure that the selected centers have a proven track record and the capacity to contribute to ICMR's goals.
Eligible organizations must have a research team with cutting-edge biomedical research experience, led by a senior Principal Investigator (PI). A strong leadership and experienced team are essential for driving impactful research.
Applicants should have an excellent track record in health research, demonstrated through impactful publications. Evidence of significant contributions to the field is a key requirement.
Demonstrated collaboration with or contribution to ICMR is essential.
Willingness to contribute to ICMR’s objectives and activities on an honorary basis.
Willingness to work with ICMR on national priorities related to public health.
The recognition as an ICMR-CCoE is granted for a duration of 5 years, with the possibility of extension based on a review of performance and contributions. This ensures ongoing commitment and impact.
Eligible organizations span various categories, including Public, Private, NGO, academia, and research institutions such as medical colleges, universities, veterinary colleges, and engineering colleges. This broad eligibility aims to include diverse expertise.
It's important to note that recognition as an ICMR-CCoE does not include any financial support from ICMR. The recognition is independent of any financial grants or funding.
Interested organizations must apply through the ICMR Electronic Project Management System (ePMS). This online platform streamlines the submission and review process.
The submission portal will be open from July 02, 2025. Ensure you register and prepare your application well in advance of the deadline.
The proposal submission process involves three key steps: PI registration/login, email ID verification and PI profile completion, and finally, the proposal submission itself. Follow the instructions carefully on the e-PMS portal.
The last date for submitting the proposal is August 01, 2025 (17:00 hrs). Adhere strictly to this deadline to ensure your application is considered.
The declaration of results will be on September 15, 2025. Keep an eye on the ICMR website for updates.
