The Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) invites applications for Industrial Fellowships aimed at PhD students/researchers in Science & Technology. This program encourages applied research and technology development. Fellowships are offered at two levels: PhD Industrial Exposure Fellowship (PIEF) and Post Doctoral Industrial Fellowship (PDIF).
The program is designed to provide valuable industrial experience to promising researchers, fostering collaboration between Indian and German institutions.
The fellowship involves working on a research project at a host industry or industrial research organization in Germany. Applicants must identify a suitable host and secure consent letters from both the German host and their Indian mentor.
The research project should align with the applicant's research area and the host organization's capabilities. The duration of the fellowship varies depending on the level (six months for PIEF, twelve months for PDIF).
PhD Industrial Exposure Fellowship (PIEF): Young researchers who have completed one year of their PhD in Science/Engineering from India and are below 28 years of age are eligible.
Post Doctoral Industrial Fellowship (PDIF): Fresh PhDs in Science/Engineering from Indian institutes/universities below 35 years of age and within 2 years of completing their PhDs are eligible. Researchers without a permanent position or with a career break meeting the age and PhD criteria are also eligible.
The duration of the PIEF is up to six months, while the PDIF is up to twelve months.
Applicants need to identify a suitable industry/industrial research organization in Germany and obtain consent letters from both the German host and their Indian mentor. A list of potential German host organizations is provided.
