The Jung Career Advancement Award supports outstanding young medical specialists who intend to work at a German hospital to intensify research while simultaneously completing their residency.
The programme provides an endowment worth €210,000, which the laureate utilizes to finance an independent research project over a period of three years. The award aims to incentivize highly talented physicians to return to Germany, thereby strengthening the nation's position as a location for medical research and encouraging long-term reconsideration of German research policy.
The award is aimed at young medical specialists. Preference is given to candidates who have completed at least two years of scientific research abroad.
The application process can be accessed via the designated application link.
The award has been granted to 20 young medical specialists since its launch in 2006.
