Description

The Pfizer Quality Improvement Competitive Grant Program supports Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives aimed at identifying and addressing gaps in adult vaccinations within India.

Overview

This competitive program seeks to support QI initiatives that identify and address gaps in adult vaccinations. The goal is to implement diverse interventions—for both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and consumers—to improve and optimize access and immunization practices, ultimately leading to increased vaccination coverage among adults, including the elderly and at-risk populations.

Research Areas and Activities

Potential applicants are encouraged to address immunization practice and vaccination access gaps in adults, including at-risk, high-risk, and/or elderly populations. Areas of interest include:

  • Clinical practice improvements to enhance immunization service quality and vaccination access among adults.
  • Novel clinical pathways, applicable in hospital or outpatient settings, to optimize vaccination access and immunization practices for target populations.
  • Innovative solutions, including digital and artificial intelligence-based tools with clear outputs and outcomes, to monitor adult vaccination status, identify gaps, and address barriers in following local vaccination recommendations.
  • Implementation of educational tools and/or interventions designed to increase vaccination awareness, boost HCP confidence in addressing vaccine hesitancy, and educate vaccinators on disease burden and risk.

The program will prioritize adult immunization across hospital-based care pathways by engaging specialties such as Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Oncology, Geriatrics, and Infectious Diseases. Target patient segments include older adults, the elderly, and at-risk/high-risk groups (such as those with chronic heart/lung/kidney/liver disease, diabetes, immunocompromise, or pregnancy), across ED, inpatient, day-care, and OPD follow-ups.
