The PPIA Junior Summer Institute (JSI) Fellowship 2025 is a program designed to prepare undergraduate students for graduate studies and careers in public policy and international affairs. The program aims to strengthen the leadership capacity of government and nonprofit organizations worldwide by encouraging a diverse cadre of leaders to pursue careers in public service. The fellowship is rooted in the belief that representation is essential to advancing a more just and equitable society.

Scope of Work

The PPIA Junior Summer Institute (JSI) is a rigorous seven-week program held before the student's senior year. During the program, students gain a deeper understanding of current issues and trends, explore career opportunities in public service and global leadership, and acquire the academic skills necessary to excel in graduate education.

Eligibility

Applicants must have an expected graduation date between December 2025 and August 2026. United States citizens, legal permanent residents, or DACA recipients are eligible to apply to all JSI programs. International students are eligible for select JSIs – Carnegie Mellon and Princeton – and must be enrolled in a U.S. based institution. Applicants must be interested in contributing to the diversity of perspectives present in the Junior Summer Institute and demonstrate involvement in working to improve historically underserved or underrepresented communities. Financial need is taken into consideration.
