Description

The Revive Live - Round 3 program supports established live music venues and Australian music festivals to continue operating, limit closures and cancellations, and build long-term sustainability. The program is part of the Australian Government’s National Cultural Policy Revive and the Critical Support for the Live Music and Festivals measure.

Overview

Revive Live - Round 3 provides essential support to the live music sector, with a focus on improving accessibility for disabled artists and patrons. The program will increase performance opportunities for original contemporary music by Australian artists, support a sustainable live music ecosystem, and build resilience to change and risk. Funding is available for projects commencing from 1 December 2026, with the grant activity timeframe running to 30 June 2027.

Funding and Benefits

A total of $12.5 million is available in 2026-27. Grant amounts are as follows:

  • Minimum grant: $5,000
  • Maximum grant (venues and small festivals): $150,000
  • Maximum grant (larger festivals with more than 10,000 attendees): $250,000

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • have an Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • be registered for GST
  • be a permanent resident of Australia
  • have an account with an Australian financial institution
  • comply with all regulatory, industry and legal requirements regarding copyright, licensing, employment, planning and environmental protection

Applicants must be one of the following entity types:

  • a company incorporated in Australia
  • a company incorporated by guarantee
  • a sole trader with employees
  • an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust
  • an incorporated association
  • a partnership
  • an incorporated not-for-profit organisation
  • an Australian local government body
  • an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006

Applications can only be accepted from organisations that:

  • have a primary purpose to host live public performances of original contemporary music, with a strong focus on showcasing Australian artists (Australian local government bodies are exempt from this criterion)
  • have at least three years of demonstrated experience delivering live music
  • are a majority-Australian owned business (including any parent or related companies)

Organisations are not eligible if they:

  • are included on the National Redress Scheme’s list of ‘Institutions that have not joined or signified their intent to join the Scheme’
  • are an individual (unless a sole trader with employees)
  • are an unincorporated association
  • are an overseas resident or organisation
  • receive income from gambling or gambling related sources
  • are an organisation for which delivering original live music is a secondary or ancillary function
