The Royal Children's Hospital – Good Friday Appeal 2026 supports projects designed to improve access to high-quality care and reliable health information for all Australian children and young people, irrespective of location.
This opportunity supports two distinct projects. The first project focuses on enhancing regional paediatric healthcare access through investment in equipment, training, education, and new models of care across regional and rural health services in Victoria. This aims to increase the number of children and young people who can receive high quality care closer to home, thereby making the pathway to specialist care easier.
The second project involves scaling the national Paediatric Health Literacy Platform. This initiative will enable the national expansion of the Royal Children’s Hospital Health Literacy Project, which creates a range of engaging, inclusive, and evidence-based digital health resources with and for children, young people, and their parents. The project incorporates the voice, opinions, and lived experience of the target group to shape the content and approach, addressing the issue that over half of all Australian adults have low health literacy, which can impact decision-making regarding children in their care.
The total amount available for this grant activity is $2,000,000.00 AUD.
