Description

The Strengthening U.S. Studies in Higher Education in Argentina opportunity supports Argentine universities in enhancing the quality, reach, and impact of their U.S. Studies programs. Administered by the U.S. Mission to Argentina through the Public Diplomacy Section at the U.S. Embassy in Buenos Aires, this cooperative agreement aims to foster mutual understanding, academic collaboration, and informed dialogue on U.S. society, governance, history, and culture.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Not-for-profit organizations, including think tanks and civil society/non-governmental organizations

Project Objectives

The project must achieve the following objectives:

  • Objective 1: Support Argentine universities in hosting at least two U.S.-based experts per institution to deliver guest lectures on contemporary and high-impact topics in U.S. politics, economics, and society.
  • Objective 2: Increase student engagement in U.S. Studies courses and related activities by 25%, as measured through enrollment figures and event attendance data.

Expected Outcomes: A minimum 25% rise in enrollment and engagement in U.S. Studies courses and related activities, and at least 50% of participants demonstrating increased knowledge and favorability toward the United States (measured through pre- and post-program surveys).
