The Swedish Parkinson Foundation (Parkinsonfonden) supports clinical research in the Parkinson's area. The foundation provides travel grants to support researchers attending conferences or visiting other labs.

Funding Focus

The Swedish Parkinson Foundation's primary focus is to support clinical research related to Parkinson's disease. This includes a broad range of studies aimed at understanding, treating, and ultimately finding a cure for Parkinson's.

The foundation provides travel grants to facilitate knowledge exchange and collaboration among researchers. These grants are intended to cover expenses associated with research visits and conference participation.

The goal of these grants is to foster innovation and accelerate progress in the field of Parkinson's disease research. By supporting researchers, the foundation aims to improve the lives of individuals affected by this condition.

Grant Details

The travel grants cover conference and registration fees, transportation, and hotel costs (economy class). Daily allowances are not covered by the grant.

Grants are limited to a maximum of SEK 10,000 for travel within Europe and SEK 15,000 for travel to other countries. Active participation in the conference or research visit is mandatory, such as giving a lecture or presenting a poster.

Applications and reports must be submitted as Word documents to the project administration at anslag@parkinsonfonden.se.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for a travel grant, applicants must actively participate in the conference or research visit. This includes presenting a lecture or poster session.

Applicants must submit an abstract of their presentation or research project. If the abstract has not yet been approved, a preliminary abstract can be submitted with the application.

If a preliminary abstract is submitted, the Foundation must be informed of the abstract's acceptance, the conference name, and the conference date as soon as this information is available. Email details to pfonden@hotmail.com.

Application Process

Applicants should use the application form available under the "Söka anslag – Reseanslag" section of the Parkinsonfonden website.

Ensure that all required documents, including the abstract (or preliminary abstract), are included with the application. All applications and reports should be sent to the project administration (anslag@parkinsonfonden.se) as Word documents.

The Foundation will not support travels earlier than 2 months after the application deadline. Make sure to plan your travel accordingly.
