The United Nations Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) is offering a funding opportunity for local, grassroots, women, and young women's civil society organizations in Bangladesh. This call aims to bolster their involvement and leadership in addressing climate security challenges within conflict-affected areas.
This Call for Proposals centers on enhancing women's engagement and leadership in preventing climate-related conflicts and injustice. It also aims to promote women's economic and political empowerment in the context of climate security and climate justice.
The initiative supports local women's and young women's rights organizations through both programmatic and institutional funding. The goal is to amplify their impact and sustainability in these critical areas.
The core theme of this call is to promote gender-responsive approaches to climate security, ensuring women's voices are central to decision-making processes.
Two distinct funding streams are available to support qualifying local organizations.
Programmatic Funding: Ranges from 30,000 USD to 200,000 USD. This funding is designed to finance activities that increase women's participation in conflict prevention and improve their socio-economic recovery and political engagement in peacebuilding.
Institutional Funding: Ranges from 2,500 USD to 30,000 USD. This stream aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of women's rights and women-led organizations working on climate-related conflict prevention and economic/political decision-making.
The call is specifically targeted towards local, grassroots civil society organizations in Bangladesh.
Organizations must be women-led or focused on women's rights.
Priority will be given to organizations working in conflict-affected areas.
Organizations must demonstrate a clear commitment to climate security and gender equality.
Organizations should have a proven track record of working with women and young women in relevant fields.
Applications must be submitted in English and can be completed via two methods.
