The World Health Organization (WHO) is offering a fully-funded Fellowship Programme in Cairo, Egypt.

This program provides young professionals with hands-on experience in the global health sector.

As the United Nations’ directing authority on international health, WHO offers exposure to key health programs that can broaden your educational and professional scope.

The Fellowship Programme is designed to enhance skills through practical assignments and offer direct exposure to WHO’s work.

Scope of Work

Fellows will be assigned a project aligned with their skills and the program’s objectives.

Tasks may include conducting literature reviews and surveys, undertaking web research and data analysis, assisting in organizing workshops, meetings, and events, drafting and editing policy briefs, toolkits, and reports, and participating in ongoing departmental projects.

Eligibility

Applicants must have a postgraduate degree in public health, social sciences, or related fields.

They should have at least 2 years of experience in research, report drafting, or fieldwork, with knowledge of data analysis and statistical software being advantageous. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Arabic or French is a plus.

Applicants should demonstrate teamwork, respect for cultural differences, effective communication, and adaptability to changing environments.

Only applicants from low and middle-income member states of the Eastern Mediterranean Region will be considered.

Budget and Duration

The fellowship includes a monthly stipend and travel to the duty station.

The program duration is 3 months, with the potential for extension up to 6 months.

Additional Information

Fellows will not be eligible for any WHO appointments for three months after completing the fellowship.

WHO encourages applications from women and nationals of underrepresented member states.

The organization maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of harassment or exploitation.
