The Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2025 is a fully-funded program designed to cultivate a network of dedicated clean energy and climate change leaders from emerging and developing countries.
The fellowship provides participants with opportunities to engage with top Yale faculty and researchers, as well as leading global authorities in the clean energy transition.
Sixteen young professionals are selected annually from various career paths across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean.
The fellowship program involves two weeks of in-person participation: the Yale Orientation week (April 7-11, 2025) and the Paris closing week (September 15-19, 2025).
Fellows also engage in five remote learning journeys between May and early July 2025.
The program aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants, enabling them to develop their leadership skills and contribute to the clean energy and climate change landscape.
Applicants should have between five and 10 years of professional experience with demonstrated achievements at a regional, national, or international level.
While there is no maximum age limit, the program prioritizes young leaders.
Applicants must be representatives of the Global South, specifically from developing Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America/Caribbean.
Fluency in English is essential for successful participation.
There is no application fee or other cost to apply or participate in the program.
All fellows' expenses for the Yale Orientation week and Paris closing week are covered, including round-trip airfare, hotels, transfers, and per-diem.
The fellowship program spans two weeks of in-person participation and five remote learning journeys, taking place between April 2025 and September 2025.
The program seeks to attract a diverse group of fellows from various stakeholder groups, including government officials, entrepreneurs, energy company professionals, bankers/financiers, journalists, educators/researchers, civil society representatives, legal advisors, and legislators.
The application deadline for the Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship 2025 is November 8, 2024.
