Introduction

Eligibility

Applicants can be from any country bordering the Mediterranean Sea. Groups of journalists are eligible, but the application must be made in the name of one lead applicant. Applications are accepted in English, French, or Arabic. Journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience are eligible.

Budget and Duration

The EJN Mediterranean Media Initiative Story Grants 2024 will award up to 10 grants with a budget of up to €1,000 each. The stories are expected to be published by the end of 2024 or January 15, 2025.

The grants are intended to support producing high-quality investigative journalism that will contribute to public understanding and policy change. The stories should be engaging, informative, and impactful.
