The Marshall Memorial Fellowship (MMF) is a flagship leadership development program established in 1982 by the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF).
It aims to introduce a new generation of European leaders to the United States and enhance transatlantic leadership across the Atlantic.
The program focuses on developing professional and leadership skills, promoting democratic values, and fostering public diplomacy.
The MMF program provides fellows with unique opportunities to build competence in transatlantic relations, engage in leadership development through virtual and in-person meetings, experience three weeks of immersive travel, participate in peer learning and networking, and create a lasting network of alumni.
The program includes a diverse cohort of emerging leaders, virtual programming featuring interactive workshops and alumni masterclasses, a 24-day immersive travel experience, and a comprehensive personal and professional leadership development journey.
The MMF program targets mid-career professionals aged 30 to 42 with 7 to 15 years of leadership experience.
Participants should have an understanding of transatlantic issues and a commitment to sustainable change.
They often come from diverse sectors including finance, media, government, and NGOs.
To apply, candidates must possess relevant leadership experience, demonstrate fluency in English, hold a valid passport from qualifying countries, and submit two letters of recommendation, a professional biography, and a current resume/CV.
