The UNU-International Institute for Global Health Policy Research Fellowship 2024/2025 is a research fellowship program offered by the UNU-IIGH. The program focuses on interrogating power and gender asymmetries that lead to inequitable and unjust health outcomes in global health governance, gendered health systems, digital health security and governance, and climate emergencies and just transitions. The fellowship aims to catalyze equitable and effective health policies and practices by engaging with governments, multilateral fora, academia, and civil society.
The Policy Research Fellow will work on selected projects within the relevant work package. Their responsibilities include generating and disseminating policy-relevant research, providing administrative and managerial input into research and policy engagement activities, building and managing partnerships with external researchers and partners, producing specified outputs to the required standard of quality and within the timeline and budget parameters, contributing to capacity-building and knowledge translation, participating in international research, policy, and outreach events, and helping supervise and mentor policy research associates, PhD students, junior researchers, and interns.
Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience, including evidence of growing technical and management responsibility, or a PhD in a relevant field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience, including evidence of growing technical and management responsibility. They must also have a demonstrated track record in international research and policy engagement in areas related to the work package, a track record of competitive funding and resource mobilization from national and international funding agencies, excellent verbal and written skills in English across a range of communication formats, and knowledge of another official UN language would be an asset.
The successful candidate will be employed under a PSA contract at P-3/P-2 level and no relocation allowances apply. UNU offers an attractive compensation package, including an annual net salary in the range of $46,472 – $49,041 for P-2 and $59,151.00 – $62,024.00 for P-3 level, commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Benefits include 30 days of annual leave and a health insurance scheme.
Desirable qualifications include evidence of teaching and research supervision experience.
The application deadline is October 10, 2024.
To apply, applicants must apply online, fill out the UNU P11 Form, provide a motivation statement, and answer a few questions tailored to the position. Previous applicants who applied for the same position need not apply.
