The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships 2025/2026 is a fully-funded scholarship program offered by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). This scholarship aims to empower talented individuals from Commonwealth countries to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable development.
The program is designed for individuals who cannot afford to pursue their Master's degree in the UK.
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) manages the scholarship scheme, aligning with the UK government's international development objectives.
The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships program provides funding for Master's degree programs in various fields.
The scholarship covers approved airfare to and from the UK, full tuition fees, a monthly stipend, warm clothing allowance, study travel grant, and child allowance for eligible scholars.
The program aims to support individuals who can contribute to the development of their home countries upon completion of their studies.
To be eligible for the Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships, applicants must:
Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2025.
Hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).
Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.
The scholarship covers the following expenses:
Approved airfare to and from the UK.
Full tuition fees.
Stipend (living allowance) at the rate of £1,378 per month, or £1,690 per month for those at universities in the London metropolitan area.
Warm clothing allowance, where applicable.
Study travel grant towards the cost of study-related travel within the UK or overseas.
Child allowance of £590 per month for the first child, and £146 per month for the second and third child under the age of 16, if their children are living with them at the same address in the UK.
The scholarship program is for study in the UK beginning in September/October 2025. Applicants must apply to a nominator, either a national nominating agency or a selected non-governmental organization or charitable body.
The deadline for submitting an application is 16:00 BST (15:00 GMT) on 15 October 2024.
